WHAT TO SEE IN GORAFE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

Gorafe, a charming village

Gorafe, home to the Megalithic Park with the largest number of dolmens cataloged in Europe, is the icing on the cake of the Granada Geopark which, together with its wastelands, constitutes the register of continental sediments of the most continuous Quaternary period on planet Earth.
It is located in an almost central point of the basin called "Hoya de Guadix Baza", a post-orogenic basin characterized by surprising landscapes. It offers its visitors numerous accommodation solutions both in hotels and in one of the traditional cave-houses at affordable prices (on average € 30 per person, minimum two nights).

Just 30 km from Guadix and about 100 km from the capital Granada, the city offers basic tourism-oriented services (medical advice, supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants and bars).
At Casa Juana, one of the restaurants, on Saturday evenings, by reservation, you can attend a flamenco show.

A megalithic interpretation center opens its doors for guided tours at 12:00 and 17:00* every day, except Mondays. Groups of more than 15 people can contact the Interpretation Centre to choose a personalised time for the visit.
To visit the surroundings, Geopark Granada offers 4×4 routes and trekking excursions.

Gorafe is currently one of the places that can exhibit a Starlight certificate that certifies low light pollution!
